Environment & Sustainability

Protecting the environment.

Environmental protection is an important part of everything we do. Lowbury Construction are committed to operate our business in a responsible way to preserve and protect the world in which we live in.

Controlling the impact of our projects on the environment is important to us and our clients.

By undertaking the following we continue to move forwards in this important area.

  • Employing local labour and material suppliers so reducing vehicular movements and vehicle emissions.
  • Encouraging sharing travelling to and from sites by site operatives.
  • Employing local subcontractors or contractors that in-turn follow our environmental ideals.

  • Trying to re-use, recycle and re-purpose materials where the designs allow, where the clients accept and where sites’ considerations facilitate.

  • Utilising spoil removal contractors who operate a ‘waste transfer station’- a location
where soils and aggregates may be crushed and screened and so be sold back to the marketplace rather than simply sent to landfill.
  • Where possible separating waste materials on site through designated waste skips so that reusable materials may be collected and recycled.
