Project Description:

Construction of cast insitu reinforced concrete flood defence walls, including tanking to elevations of localised buildings. Works include installation of associated flood gates, sumps and pumps, sealing of entry cable ducts and modification of the drainage system and building hardening.

Works Included:

  • Hand dig trial holes to locate existing electrical following HSG 47 & NPG’s procedure for excavation works associated with flood defence construction on EHV sites protocol as detailed in specific RAMS for the works.
  • Construction of structural concrete slabs and walls – (Various widths and heights as specified).
  • Installation of new Security fencing including installations onto concrete walls.
  • Embankment works required to support proposed works
  • Installation of drainage system
  • Installation of ducts & draw pits
  • Installation of flood pump chambers with pump and associated equipment
  • Modification of existing inspection chambers.
  • Installation of flood barrier gates
  • Installation of barrier fixings for slot in flood barriers as required.
  • Associated mechanical & electrical requirements (power supply for flood pumps, standby generator, new distribution board, pump kiosks)
  • Any associated works relating to adjacent buildings ie temporary protection upgrading etc.
